About Me
Spencer Grimm is a software engineer, data analyst, and process consultant from the craft beer industry. After decades of furniture-making for his own homes, Spencer found himself using NY's stunning native hardwoods (and traditional Amish/Mennonite sawmills) to gift items to friends and family. Excited by their quality, he invested in a small workshop, purpose-built for working live edge slabs and outfitted with precision tools.Spencer's approach is to hand-select the most beautiful local lumber, match it to the flow and color of a client's home, and refine it into durable heirloom furniture. Thus, the beauty of local, natural materials that grew over decades or centuries is preserved as functional art. By refining flaws, sculpting pieces by hand, and treating the client relationship with care, Spencer's furniture contains a spirit that stands in opposition to factory-optimized, wood composite furniture.
